Warehouse Management System with Excel, VBA & QlikView
The company, named AgroM Transport, is part of the group
Agromousquetaires.
AgroM Transport does different kind of transport activities, the one concerned by this application is the distribution activity.
It consists of the delivery, from 15 logistics hubs, to all the french sales points.
The application has been duplicate into 15 Excel files, 1 per logistic hub.
Each hub manager can, for his hub, is able to :
- reorganize all the deliveries
- register the deliveries done each day
- register each return of containers to the central hubs
- check the fiability of the registered data
- launch specific program to follow any sales point
- watch the numbers of availables containers on the hub
- watch the numbers of availables containers on every sales point
- launch reports needed to follow the stocks
- print the delivery history of every sales point
Then, with the help of the software
BarcodeOCR,
an automated system has been made to handle all the paper with barcode :
- each delivery has his own paper with a unique barcode on it
- when the drivers come back, everything is scanned
- the software BarcodeOCR run on the server to treat these scans
- the software detect each barcode to tidy it in a network folder
- each file is renamed with the delivery code and the date of the day
- from each Excel file, it's then possible to recover any of these originals scans if needed
Finally, the software
QlikView
is able to connect the 15 Excel files together. This made the reporting more efficient, centralised and able to manage big data sets
This data visualisation tool is similar to Tableau or Power BI.
